Palm Beach Recreation Center

The Recreation Center, situated between the two schools on the island, is the hub of after-school activity! The department offers a fully supervised, fun-filled after-school program for Kindergarten through fifth grade, a wide variety of exciting enrichment classes for school-age children and many interesting and challenging enrichment/fitness programs for adults!

Some of the programs offered for children include pre-school programs, art, cooking, tumbling and gymnastics, self-defense, film workshops, dancing, and a variety of youth athletics for preschoolers to middle school. When school is not in session, the recreation staff is still in full swing, providing holiday camps and seasonal special events. Halloween is a favorite with the transformation of the center into the exciting Halloween Happenings Carnival. The Spring Celebration is another favorite with its colorful egg hunt.

Additionally, the Recreation Center offers many adult programs to enrich and enhance lives, and encourage healthy minds and bodies. A sampling of classes includes language arts, painting/drawing, yoga, ballroom dancing, photography, cooking, body conditioning and stretching.


Seaview Tennis Center

The renovated Seaview Tennis Center is a very popular spot for the young and young at heart. The complex features seven lit, clay subsurface irrigated tennis courts with shaded shelters and a practice wall. The courts are available for play from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. A variety of adult tournaments, junior tournaments, parent-child round robins, evening doubles round robins and leagues are offered.  Instruction is available through private lessons and adult and junior clinics. The tennis pro shop offers a variety of apparel, accessories and racket stringing.


Phipps Ocean Park Tennis Center

The Phipps Ocean Park Tennis Center opened in February 2002 and features six clay subsurface irrigated tennis courts with shaded shelters. The center also features a pro shop and a decorative gated entrance plaza with a player/spectator pavilion. The courts are available seven days a week. Please call for seasonal hours of operation. Programs at the facility include leagues, private lessons and mixers. The courts are located just one mile north of the Lake Worth Bridge in Palm Beach at Phipps Ocean Park.


Palm Beach Par 3 Golf Course

Designed by PGA Hall of Famer Raymond Floyd, this recently renovated golf course features a layout offering 6 holes with breathtaking views of the ocean, 3 holes on the intra-coastal waterway lakes. Beautiful landscaping along with lush, green seashore paspalum turf creates a stunning tropical setting where there’s always an ocean breeze. Golf course hours of operation are from 7 a.m. to dusk; driving range hours vary from season to season.

Facilities also include a driving range, putting green, practice bunker and full-service pro shop with rental clubs, apparel and accessories. Golf lessons can be arranged seven days a week from a staff of experienced PGA professionals. Located just one mile north of the Lake Worth Bridge in Palm Beach, its close proximity to Palm Beach’s finest hotels makes it an ideal location for a fun day’s outing.


Palm Beach Docks

Since the 1940s, the Town Docks have served the boating and yachting community visiting the island.  The three docks are Brazilian, Australian and Peruvian, named for the east-west streets nearby, provide a convenient haven for day visitors or for those who wish to spend the season.

Beaches & Parks

The Town of Palm Beach features more than 4,700 linear feet of public beach.  The Town’s Beach Patrol is considered to be one of the top lifeguard departments in the country! The Beach Patrol is responsible for guarding two public beaches and lifeguards are on duty 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in the winter and 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. during the summer.

Phipps Ocean Park, located at 2145 S. Ocean Blvd., has approximately three acres of beach for sunning and swimming.  Phipps Ocean Park also offers a great deal of other leisure opportunities to its visitors.  A wonderful grassy shaded park with picnic tables and grills available on a first-come, first-serve basis, several small pavilions, playground, open green space for the sports fan wanting to throw a football or Frisbee, six tennis courts, as well as showers and restrooms in addition to the beachfront.

Bradley Park is located at the foot of the Flagler Bridge on Royal Poinciana Way and has finely manicured lawns and an historic pavilion. For those who want to sit quietly under a beautiful Royal Poinciana tree reading, picnicking or simply relaxing, Bradley Park is the place for you!


Bicycle Trails

Bicycling around Palm Beach is an experience not to be missed, and a very traditional way to see the sights in Palm Beach!  Scenery includes multi-million-dollar mansions, celebrities’ estates and the glistening waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway.

A great place to rent or purchase a bike and helmet is the Palm Beach Bicycle Trail Shop, located at 233 Sunrise Ave.  Call 561.659.4583 for more information.

You can enjoy a scenic bike ride on any of the following established trails:

  1. Starts at Worth Avenue, running north along Lake Worth, terminating two blocks north of the Sailfish Club: approximately 5 miles.
  2. Starts at Wells Road, along North County Road, terminating at the Palm Beach Country Club: approximately 1.5 miles.
  3. Starts at Ibis Isle, going south, terminating at the Town of Lantana: approximately 3 miles.
